Terms of Service

Welcome to Aefo. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Aefo app and related services. By tapping Begin, accessing, or using Aefo, you agree to these Terms.

1. Eligibility and Account

• You must be legally capable of entering into a binding agreement under applicable law.
• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account session and device access.
• You are responsible for all activities conducted through your account.
• You must provide accurate and lawful information when using the service.
• You may Leave at any time. Delete Account permanently removes locally stored coins, prints, and atelier data on this device. Some server-side records may be retained as required for security, billing, or legal compliance.

2. Service Description

Aefo provides features including but not limited to:

• Browsing a magazine-style Archive of vintage editorial prints.
• Selecting or capturing photos in Studio (Photo Library or Camera) and applying print processes such as '70S MAG, NOIR PRINT, POLAROID, and GOLDEN ERA.
• Optionally recording a short voice caption for a print before developing it.
• Developing on-device vintage editorial prints with style metadata and history management.
• Saving developed prints to Photos, reusing styles, and managing a personal atelier in L'Atelier.
• Optional in-app purchases for digital Coins used to develop prints.

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue parts of the service based on product, technical, legal, or security needs.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Violate laws, regulations, or rights of others.
• Upload, process, publish, or distribute illegal, infringing, abusive, harmful, hateful, or sexually inappropriate content (including photos, avatars, or nicknames).
• Process photos or content that you do not have the right to use.
• Interfere with system security, integrity, or normal operation.
• Reverse engineer, scrape, exploit, or misuse the service without authorization.
• Use automated tools to abuse traffic, print development, or transactions.

4. User Content

• You retain rights to content you create or upload, subject to applicable law.
• You grant us a limited, non-exclusive, revocable license to process your content on device solely to provide and improve the Studio features you use.
• You represent that your content does not infringe third-party rights and is lawful.
• We may remove or restrict content that violates these Terms or legal requirements.
• Developed prints and related history are stored locally on your device unless otherwise stated.

5. In-App Purchases and Virtual Currency

• Some features require digital Coins, including developing a print (70 Coins per successful development).
• First launch may grant a one-time newbie bonus (210 Coins).
• Billing and payment processing are handled by the Apple App Store.
• Refunds, cancellations, and billing disputes are subject to Apple policies and applicable law.
• Virtual Coins are consumable, non-transferable (unless required by law), and have no cash value outside the app.
• Purchases are generally final and non-refundable except as required by law or platform policy.
• Because Coins are consumable, Restore Purchases is not applicable.

6. On-Device Print Processing

• Print effects are applied on-device using system image-processing capabilities.
• You retain control over photos you select and prints you develop, save, or delete.
• Processed images are stylistic / creative outputs and may not be unique or error-free.
• You are responsible for reviewing results before sharing them outside the app.

7. Intellectual Property

• The app, trademarks, logos, software, design, and service materials are owned by Aefo or licensors.
• Except as expressly allowed, you may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or create derivative works of the app or its materials.
• Preset / sample archive content is provided for demonstration and inspiration within the app experience.

8. Privacy

Your use of Aefo is also governed by our Privacy Policy:

9. Disclaimers

• The service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.
• To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
• We do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure operation.
• We do not guarantee any specific creative, photographic, or commercial outcome from using the app or print filters.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law, Aefo and its affiliates, officers, employees, and partners are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, revenue, goodwill, or virtual currency balances arising from your use of the service.

11. Suspension and Termination

We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms, applicable law, or pose security / risk concerns. You may stop using the service at any time by choosing Leave, Delete Account, or uninstalling the app.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms as needed. Material updates may be communicated via app notice, website notice, or other reasonable channels. Continued use after updates constitutes acceptance of revised Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by applicable laws in the jurisdiction where services are provided, unless otherwise required by mandatory consumer protection laws in your region.
