This Privacy Policy describes how Aefo ("we", "our", or "us") collects, uses, stores, and protects personal information when you use the Aefo mobile application and related services.
1. Information We Collect
We may collect the following categories of information:
- Account information: account identifier, display nickname, and avatar you provide.
- Device and technical information: device identifier, advertising identifier (where permitted), app version, system version, model, language, and timezone.
- Usage information: app interaction events, feature usage, attribution data, and service logs.
- Content information: photos you capture or select for on-device print processing, developed print images, optional voice captions, style metadata (such as lens / film labels), and related history records.
- Purchase information: StoreKit transaction identifiers, order status, and Coins balance changes related to in-app purchases.
Developed prints, history, atelier data, and Coins balances are stored locally on your device. Photo filter rendering is performed on-device.
2. Permissions and Purpose
Aefo may request the following permissions:
- Photo Library: used to select photos for Studio print development, choose an avatar, and save developed prints back to Photos where applicable.
- Camera: used to capture photos for vintage editorial processing when you choose camera capture.
- Microphone: used when you choose to record an optional short voice caption for a print in Studio before developing; Archive browsing does not require the microphone.
- Tracking (App Tracking Transparency): used for attribution and analytics optimization where permitted (for example, Adjust).
You can manage permissions in iOS Settings at any time. Denying a permission may affect related features, but viewing already-saved Archive content remains available where possible.
3. How We Use Information
We use collected information to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain core app features (Archive, Studio, Atelier, History, and Coin Store).
- Save, organize, and display your developed prints and atelier data.
- Process Coins purchases and related entitlements.
- Improve product performance, stability, and user experience.
- Detect abuse, fraud, and security risks.
- Support customer service and dispute handling.
- Measure marketing attribution where you grant tracking permission.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell personal information. We may share information only in limited situations:
- With service providers that help us host, analyze, attribute, or secure services.
- With Apple and payment infrastructure to process in-app purchases.
- When required by law, regulation, legal process, or government request.
- To protect rights, safety, and property of users, us, or others.
5. Data Storage and Security
We apply commercially reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data, including access control and secure transmission practices. Local content on your device is protected by the security of your device and operating system. No method of transmission or storage is absolutely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Data Retention
We retain personal information only as long as necessary for service provision, legal compliance, dispute resolution, and enforcement of agreements. When you delete your account in-app, local Studio data (coins, prints, and atelier data) is cleared from the device. Server-side retention, if any, follows applicable legal and operational requirements. When no longer required, data will be deleted or anonymized as reasonably practicable.
7. Your Rights
Subject to applicable law, you may have rights to:
- Access or obtain a copy of your personal information.
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete personal information.
- Delete certain personal information.
- Restrict or object to certain processing activities.
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
In the app, you may Leave or use Delete Account to clear local coins, prints, and atelier data. You can also submit requests through our support channel. We may verify your identity before processing requests.
8. Children's Privacy
Aefo is not directed to children under the minimum age required by applicable law. If we become aware that personal information of a child has been collected without appropriate authorization, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
9. International Transfers
Depending on your region and service architecture, your information may be processed in jurisdictions different from your own. We will take reasonable safeguards as required by applicable law.
10. Third-Party Services
The app may use Apple platforms for purchases and system services, attribution SDKs (such as Adjust) where permitted, and libraries such as layout helpers. These parties may process technical data under their own terms where applicable.
11. On-Device Image Processing
Aefo applies vintage editorial print effects on your device using system image-processing frameworks. Photos you select for development are processed locally to create magazine-style prints. You retain control over content you upload, develop, save, or delete, and you are responsible for ensuring you have the rights to use any photo you process.
12. Policy Updates
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by in-app notice, website update, or other reasonable channels. Continued use after updates means you acknowledge the revised policy.
